Young People in Smolyan: How to Go Beyond the Borders of Our City

In Smolyan, 40 young participants, alongside representatives of the local government, the director of the Youth House, and members of school councils, gathered to engage in an open dialogue about the future of their town. This inspiring meeting was part of the “Meetings Between Local Authorities and Young People” initiative, organized by the National Youth Forum, which aims to empower young people to play an active role in local decision-making.

The event provided a platform to share and discuss ideas, but it was also an opportunity to showcase the results of the “My Name Is Youth” project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme. During a dedicated session, we presented the significant outcomes of this initiative, which focuses on preparing young people for the demands of the future through innovative tools and skills. The project has achieved great progress in developing AI and VR technology competencies, fostering intercultural communication, and encouraging creative problem-solving.

Participants were particularly impressed by the innovative approach of integrating modern technologies like artificial intelligence and virtual reality into youth development. They explored how these tools can not only enhance personal growth but also drive community and economic progress in Smolyan.
